About the role: Working alongside qualified tradespeople with our Host Employer,
Adelaide Metro (Torrens Connect), you’ll assist with the maintenance, servicing, and repair of tram systems while learning to use workshop tools, follow strict safety procedures, and complete routine inspections. The role suits someone with a strong interest in
mechanical work, good problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to safety, offering hands‑on experience and a pathway to a nationally recognised mechanical trade qualification.
What You’ll Be Doing - Assisting tradespeople with scheduled servicing and mechanical repairs
- Learning to safely use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment
- Conducting routine inspections and reporting issues
- Following strict safety, compliance, and operational procedures
- Supporting the reliable and safe running of Adelaide’s tram network
Location: Glengowrie, SA
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 6.30am – 2.30pm with Rostered Days Off (RDOs).

About you: - Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
- Minimum completion of Year 10 High School
- Driver’s License and reliable transport
- Completed a Certificate II in Engineering or relevant experience (preferred)
