About the role:
Our host company, Mayfield Industries was established in 1936 and has grown from its humble beginnings as a South Australian switchboard builder to become an Australian leader in the engineering, design, manufacturing and servicing of critical electrical infrastructure. Employing over 170 people across Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth, their team of Apprentices, Electricians, Machine Operators and Sheetmetal Workers work together to deliver solutions to valued customers.

This is an excellent opportunity to commence a career in fabrication while learning from experienced tradespeople in a safety-focused workshop. You'll gain exposure to a variety of fabrication processes, machinery and construction techniques while completing your nationally recognised qualification.
  
Working alongside a skilled team, your duties will include:
  • Constructing portable switch rooms from the ground up
  • Fabricating electrical switchboards and associated components
  • MIG and TIG welding
  • Grinding, finishing and metal preparation
  • Operating and using hand and power tools
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Working to production schedules and project deadlines
  • Assisting with both light and heavy fabrication projects  
You'll also have the opportunity to work alongside various trades and contractors involved in the construction process, developing valuable building and fabrication knowledge that extends beyond the workshop.
  
Location: Edinburgh
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 6.00am – 2.30pm and finishing 12.00pm on Fridays

About you:
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
  • Minimum completion of Year 11 High School
  • Driver’s License and reliable transport
  • You are reliable with good time management skills
  • Positive approach to workplace safety
  • Good with numbers and ability to read plans
