We’re looking for a motivated and reliable trainee to join a structured Information Management team within our host’s Corporate, Governance and Legal department.
This traineeship is ideal for someone who enjoys methodical, process‑driven work and wants to build a strong foundation in business administration within a local government environment. You’ll earn while you learn, gaining a nationally recognised qualification and hands‑on experience in records and information management.
No previous office experience is required — just a willingness to learn, good attention to detail, and an interest in structured administrative work.
What you’ll be doing As part of the Information Management team, you’ll learn how to: - Register and process inbound electronic and physical correspondence
- Scan, index and register documents into records management systems
- Manage physical and digital files, including locating, refiling and digitisation
- Assist with internal and external mail preparation and distribution
- Support internal courier and document delivery processes
- Provide accurate and timely information to support other areas of the organisation
- Follow established procedures, confidentiality requirements and compliance standards
You’ll gain practical, hands‑on experience every day while completing your Certificate III in Business, supported by experienced supervisors in a structured work environment.
What we’re looking for - Completed Year 12 (or equivalent)
- Well organised with good attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable with routine tasks
- Able to follow processes and work instructions accurately
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- A genuine desire to learn and develop new skills
