The Opportunity

Kick-start your career with a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (MEM30219) through a 4-year apprenticeship.

You’ll work in a hands-on production machine shop, gaining real experience with manual and CNC machinery while learning from skilled tradespeople.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Learning machining and mechanical engineering skills on the job
  • Working with CNC lathes, milling machines, and hand tools
  • Assisting with machine setup and operation
  • Developing practical skills in a fast-paced workshop environment
Work schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • 6:45am – 3:15pm
  • 38 hours per week (early finish every day)

Duties May Include
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Operating machines to cut, shape, and finish metal components
  • Using tools and equipment such as:
    • CNC machines
    • Lathes & milling machines
    • Hand and power tools
  • Checking accuracy and quality of finished work
  • Assisting with general workshop tasks
About You
To be successful, you will have:
  • A genuine interest in mechanical or engineering work
  • A strong willingness to learn and take direction
  • A positive attitude and good work ethic
Minimum requirements:
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Completion of Year 10
  • Drivers Licence (desirable, not essential)
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment checks if required
