The Opportunity:

Are you passionate about mechanical engineering and eager to kick‑start your career with one of Australia’s most iconic manufacturing brands? Our Host Employer, based in Northmead (15 minutes from Paramatta), are offering an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Fitting Apprentice at their industrial site.

We would like to hear from apprentices at all stages - new starter or mid trade - please specify in your application what stage you are in.  

This is an incredible chance to learn from industry experts, work with cutting‑edge equipment, and build a long-term career in maintenance fitting. 

Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm

Duties may include:
  • Operate and adjust production machines
  • Run diagnostic checks, and troubleshoot to identify problems in production
  • Design new components and systems using CAD/CAM systems
  • Repair machines and build components in repair of facilities
  • Use programs to monitor machine processes and performance
  • Perform changeovers/setups, preventative maintenance, and fault finding
  • Examine and evaluate specifications for the requirements for a task
  • Operate and adjust machines to create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding, or drilling metal stock or components
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
  • Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools and welding equipment
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies 
About You:
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
  • Completion of Year 10 High School
  • Drivers Licence desirable but not essential
  • Willing to undertake police check and pre employment medical if required
