Work Health and Safety Policy Statement
Policy Overview
At the Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre (ATC), the safety, physical and mental health of
our Apprentices, Trainees, and Labour Hire Employees (ATC Employees) is our highest priority at all times.
The ATC is committed to providing all ATC Staff, ATC Employees, ATC contractors, suppliers, third parties, and
visitors (ATC Stakeholders) with a safe and healthy work environment in line with relevant WHS legislation, codes
of practice and Australian Standards.
The ATC will exercise its due diligence through the implementation of robust risk management frameworks.
Our goal is to prevent injuries and illness in the workplace.
All injuries can be prevented
The ATC will achieve this through:
- Providing a resource of trained safety professionals.
- Applying a risk management process for all new and existing Host Employers.
- Assessing, identifying, and reducing the risks in the workplace.
- Providing instruction, training, and supervision to improve understanding of workplace hazards, including
safe work practices. - Providing appropriate mental health first aid training for all relevant staff.
- Consulting with all ATC Stakeholders on safety matters.
- Measuring and evaluating the WHS performance through regular review of objectives and targets.
- Applying effective return to work and rehabilitation measures for ATC Staff or ATC Employees who suffer
work related injuries. - Ensuring a safe and supportive environment for ATC Staff or ATC Employees suffering from mental health
issues. - Provision of an EAP for all ATC Staff and ATC Employees who require counselling for work related or
personal issues. - Ensure that all ATC Stakeholders comply with appropriate policies and procedures to protect their own and
others health and safety at work.
It is the responsibility of all ATC Stakeholders to:
- Follow all company safety requirements and relevant codes of practice.
- Report all hazards, near misses, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Actively participate in all safety improvement activities.
- Take reasonable care of yourself and others.
