The Opportunity:

Our host is seeking a motivated and safety-focused 3rd or 4th Year Mechanical Fitter Apprentice to join their skilled maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to continue developing your mechanical fitting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced tradespeople on the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of industrial equipment. If you are a reliable team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for mechanical trades, we would love to hear from you.

Duties may include:
  • Operate and adjust metalworking machines to create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding, or drilling metal stock or components
  • Using hand and machine tools, welding equipment, and CNC machines
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies
  • Operating lathes, machining centres, sheet metal folders, and benders
  • Wide variety of welding practices including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding  
About You:
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
  • Drivers Licence essential
  • Currently in mid to late third year or fourth year of apprenticeship
  • Forklift license desirable 
  • Kowledge and understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Experience with lathe and milling machine
  • Basic welding and oxy cutting skills
