Sarah Hunn Moses Named Finalist in the 2026 Victorian Training Awards

The Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is thrilled to congratulate our apprentice Sarah Hunn Moses on being named a finalist in the 2026 Victorian Training Awards, for the Apprentice of the Year category.

This recognition comes just one year after Sarah was named Female Apprentice of the Year at the 2025 AEN Victorian Awards, highlighting her continued commitment to her trade, professional development and excellence in the workplace.

Throughout her apprenticeship, Sarah has demonstrated determination, resilience and a genuine passion for welding and engineering. Her willingness to take on new challenges and continually expand her skills has earned the respect of her colleagues, supervisors and industry peers.

Sarah’s success is also a reflection of the strong support network that has helped her throughout her apprenticeship journey.

We would like to sincerely acknowledge Tradeswomen Australia, who initially referred Sarah to our Apprentice and Trainee Centre and have continued to support both Sarah and our organisation along the way. Their commitment to creating pathways for women in trades, combined with their ongoing encouragement and advocacy, has played an important role in Sarah’s success.

We would also like to thank Convair Engineering, Sarah’s host employer, for providing Sarah with the opportunity to learn her trade in a supportive and inclusive environment. Through hands-on experience, mentoring and a commitment to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople, Convair Engineering has played a vital role in helping Sarah grow into a highly capable apprentice and emerging tradesperson.

To progress from being recognised as Female Apprentice of the Year at the 2025 AEN Victorian Awards to becoming a finalist in the 2026 Victorian Training Awards is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects the hard work, dedication and professionalism Sarah has shown throughout her apprenticeship.

We are incredibly proud of Sarah and wish her every success in the Victorian Training Awards. She is a fantastic ambassador for apprenticeships and an inspiration for other women considering a career in engineering and manufacturing.
