Global Footprints Scholarships: A life-changing opportunity for young people in agriculture, horticulture and the trades

The Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre (ATC) is proud to support the Global Footprints Scholarships, an initiative that gives young Australians the chance to gain hands-on overseas experience, build leadership skills, and explore sustainability within their industry.

Applications for the 2026 scholarship round open from 1 May to 1 June, and we strongly encourage eligible young people — and their host employers — to consider this remarkable opportunity.

The Global Footprints Scholarships offer:

  • A $9,000 travel grant to support overseas work and learning experiences
  • 20+ days of international industry placement, tailored to the applicant’s goals
  • A sustainability-focused learning journey, designed to build responsible future leaders
  • Personalised support, including coaching, workshops, and networking

The program is open to 18–25-year-olds starting their careers in apprenticeships and trades, and those particularly in Agriculture, or Horticulture, with program durations ranging from 6 to 18 months depending on the scholar’s pathway.

Celebrating ATC Success: Two scholars in two years

The ATC has proudly supported two Global Footprints Scholarship recipients and over the past two years — an achievement that speaks to the calibre and commitment of our apprentices.

Their achievements highlight the enormous potential these scholarships unlock for motivated young people.

We invite apprentices, host organisations, and field officers to start conversations about the 2026 scholarship round. A simple discussion or a word of encouragement can make all the difference — and might be the first step in a young person’s life-changing experience.
