Apprentice of the Month – July 2026: Philip Lopresti
We are proud to announce Philip Lopresti as our Apprentice of the Month for July 2026.
Philip is completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology and is hosted with GPS Electrical in Melbourne, where he has quickly built a reputation as a hardworking, reliable and highly motivated apprentice.
From the moment he started, Philip has demonstrated the attitude that every employer hopes to see in an apprentice. He is always willing to have a go, takes on new challenges with enthusiasm and genuinely wants to learn as much as possible from those around him. Whether he is tackling a new task or asking thoughtful questions to better understand the work, Philip consistently shows a strong commitment to developing his skills and knowledge.
One of Philip’s standout qualities is his initiative. His supervisors regularly comment on his willingness to step up when needed, including working overtime to help ensure work is completed on time and customers receive the high level of service expected from GPS Electrical. He approaches every task with a positive attitude and is known for never complaining, even when the workload is demanding.
Philip also places a strong focus on workplace safety. He completes safety documentation without being prompted and consistently demonstrates a mature understanding of safe work practices on site. His proactive approach to safety reflects the professionalism he brings to his apprenticeship each day.
Away from the tools, Philip continues to impress with his organisation and accountability. He completes his profiling and timesheets on time, takes responsibility for his own development and responds positively to feedback. Rather than seeing corrections as criticism, Philip uses them as opportunities to improve and become a better tradesperson.
These qualities have made Philip a valued member of the GPS Electrical team and a great representative of the apprenticeship pathway. His willingness to learn, positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to safety have all contributed to him being recognised as our Apprentice of the Month for July.
