Apprentice of the Month – May 2026: Tom Lawlor

We are proud to announce Tom Lawlor as our Apprentice of the Month for May 2026.

Tom is a third-year Mechanical Engineering Apprentice hosted to Siemens Energy in Adelaide. He continues to stand out through his academic performance at Marcellin College and his strong technical capability on-site, demonstrating a level of focus and professionalism well beyond his years.

Tom has earned consistent praise for the maturity he brings to workplace health and safety. He communicates clearly about quality and safety issues and actively participates in meaningful safety conversations. He uses Siemens Energy’s internal reporting systems regularly—raising ideas, logging corrective actions, and contributing during daily pre-start meetings.

Tom’s willingness to speak up in group settings reflects both confidence and strong situational awareness. His voluntary involvement as a WHS Committee Member highlights his proactive nature and readiness to take on additional responsibility. He also engages thoroughly in scheduled safety walks and audits, completing them to a high standard. His Take 5 assessments are detailed, thoughtful, and consistently submitted, showing diligence and strong hazard-recognition skills.

From a technical perspective, Tom is progressing exceptionally well. He is confidently operating both lathes and milling machines and consistently producing high-quality components. These components require accuracy, technical competence, and a keen eye for detail—all qualities Tom has demonstrated throughout his apprenticeship.

Tom’s excellent performance, combined with his strong safety culture and continual technical development, makes him a highly deserving Apprentice of the Month. Siemens Energy has provided exceptional guidance and mentoring, and Tom has made the most of every opportunity.

We look forward to seeing Tom continue to grow into a highly skilled mechanical tradesperson, with a promising future ahead in the engineering and energy sectors.
